The itinerary connects two minor Sicilian Baroque centers, unfolding in a mountain area (the Iblei Mountains) whose most ancient typical product - honey - is characterized by the predominant presence of thyme (hence the particular name of "Frassati Trail through the Lands of Thyme".
The presence of two very interesting Byzantine rock churches along the route allows the hiker to walk through the religious history of the Iblean land.
Upon arrival in Buscemi the itinerary is enriched by the presence of a unique ethno-anthropological museum which reconstructs farmers' work in different sites over time, allowing to complete a fascinating trip through the farm culture of the Iblei.
